Making Access Possible (MAP)

United Way’s Making Access Possible (MAP) coalition provides uninsured and underinsured children throughout our community with no-cost necessary medical and dental care that they would normally go without. In addition, the coalition works to enroll children in the Nevada Check Up program for low-cost healthcare insurance to qualifying families.

 

During the nine months from July 1, 2006 through March 31, 2007, 1431 children received a total of 4122 age-appropriate immunizations, and 2102 well-child exams were provided. Teens received 210 restorative dental procedures, which included some extractions and root canals, while more than 1000 students received dental screenings. MAP partners also helped 550 qualified Nevada families apply for Nevada Check-Up healthcare insurance for their children.
