Helping Low-Income Families

In partnership with United Way and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), local businesses and organizations have spearheaded the creation of Earn !t Keep !t Save !t.

This collaborative’s mission is to help low-income families become self-sufficient and save money for the future. Its goal is to provide free tax return preparation and assistance with claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).

"Earn !t Keep !t Save !t is helping to ensure that hard-working families receive the money that belongs to them," said State Senator Steven Horsford, honorary spokesperson for Earn !t Keep !t Save !t. "This money will help them save for a brighter future."

According to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the EITC is the nation’s largest and most successful worker support program to spur economic development and strengthen the community’s workforce.

Earn !t Keep !t Save !t is providing a significant economic stimulus to our community," said Otto Merida, President and CEO of the Las Vegas Latin Chamber of Commerce. "These dollars will help fuel the local economy and create new jobs."
