United Way of Southern Nevada recognizes long-standing partners who have demonstrated excellence in running United Way workplace campaigns and celebrates their extraordinary commitment to the community. Every day these corporations and their employees are impacting our community through their generosity, leadership, and participation in community initiatives.

Citi is a leading global financial services company that is committed to making communities better through making a real, positive difference in people's lives. Citi works strategically with international, national and local nonprofit organizations to develop innovative solutions to meet the needs of underserved families and communities to fulfill its motto, "Making Communities Better Because We Are There."

“Citi is proud of its 25-year role in the Silver State,” said Steve Garofalo, President, Citi Nevada. “With 2,000 employees in Las Vegas, Citi has worked together with United Way to make a positive impact in the community for a quarter of a century.”

This year marks a 25-year milestone for Citi’s United Way employee-giving campaign. In total the organization has raised $295,000, with $195,000 from employees and $100,000 in corporate gifts. Over 65 percent of Citi employees contributed to United Way’s annual campaign and 87 percent of those contributors are “Fair Share” givers who donate at least 12 hours of pay annually.

“Citi is consistently applauded as a Top 10 Campaign Supporter,” said Dan Goulet, President and CEO, United Way of Southern Nevada. “We would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Citi for being such a wonderful partner in our community.”

In 2009, Citi and the Citi Foundation contributed $1 million to nonprofit organizations and Citi employees volunteered more than 3,000 hours in Nevada.
