What should you bring to file your taxes?
  • Proof of identification (photo I.D., driver’s license, passport, or other official photo identification).
  • Social Security Cards or Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITINs) for you, your spouse, and all of your dependents.
  • Birth dates for you, your spouse, and any dependents you claim.
  • All wage/earning statements (W-2, 1099-R, etc.).
  • Interest/dividend statements from banks (Forms 1099).
  • Last year’s Federal and State tax returns, if you have them.
  • Bank Routing Numbers and Account Numbers for Direct Deposit.
  • Total amounts paid to day-care provider/s, and the provider’s Social Security Number or Employer Identification Number.
  • Any information about other income, deductions, and credits.
  • If you are filing a joint return, both you and your spouse must be present to sign the return.
