During a powerful fourth annual Day of Caring on October 4, 2019, 1,106 volunteers completed 52 projects at 35 organizations and schools throughout the Las Vegas valley.
Bringing the community together to build hope and healing, this community-wide act of kindness wrapped up 1 October Remembrance Week. By uniting together, volunteers helped our community move forward and build resiliency at nonprofits, organizations and schools.
Thanks to the generous support of Day of Caring sponsors including KTNV Channel 13 Action News, Las Vegas Review Journal, Caesars Entertainment Corporation, Chase Bank, Nevada Volunteers, and Wells Fargo, volunteers completed projects that otherwise might not have been finished – or even started – without their support.
Volunteers gathered at a breakfast Kickoff Celebration at “The Green” at Town Square Las Vegas where they received LIVE UNITED t-shirts and UWSN tote bags.
About United Way of Southern Nevada:
United Way of Southern Nevada unites our community to improve people’s lives. We bring donors, volunteers, nonprofits, and businesses together to help children enter school ready to learn, help high school students reach graduation day, and support individuals working to earn a degree or certification, all while creating stability for their families. Together, we step into the ring and invite others to stand with us as a united front against social injustices and forces keeping our community's most vulnerable residents from a good life. We are bold and innovative to solve our toughest problems. Together, we fight for the future of our community – and we will win. Join us at uwsn.org.
