The UWSN Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Emerson as President & CEO of United Way of Southern Nevada. Scott will officially assume this role on February 1, 2018. Robyn Caspersen will continue to serve as Interim President & CEO until then. As our valued donor, we want to let you know about this important news for our organization and our community.
Scott has served 31 years with the American Red Cross, the first 12 as a volunteer. His roles have included leading and modernizing the Southern Nevada Chapter of the American Red Cross. Scott has proven himself as a dedicated leader, growing resources and developing strategic partnerships to improve local services for our community.
With a focus on innovation and collective impact, Scott will collaborate with UWSN supporters and actively engage the community to create measurable impact through United Way’s Community-Based Agenda, a roadmap to improving lives through early education, high school achievement, post-secondary attainment and workforce supports. Using information from United Way’s recently-launched information hub, Community Connect, Scott will also lead the organization’s efforts to fund community work using data and research, both of which are critical to solving Southern Nevada’s greatest challenges.
One of Scott’s first priorities will be to connect with valued supporters like you to ensure that we work together to unite our community to improve lives.
I want to thank you again for your support of United Way of Southern Nevada. Together, we will continue the important work to help families build pathways out of poverty.
