Arturo is determined to never give up on pursuing a college education despite the challenges his family has faced this year. “During COVID-19, my family and I have been worried about how we are going to have enough food in the refrigerator to make it through the pandemic,” he shares.

Thanks to his mentors and peers, Arturo continues to work towards his dream of owning his own business: "I do plan on going to college and taking the entrepreneur route and becoming a business owner. With the help of UWSN and Leaders In Training, I've had teachers take a chance on me and support me as I continue to achieve my dreams."

More than 9,000 students across the valley can break down barriers and pursue their dreams thanks to the support of the UWSN community. We hope you will join us and continue to give hope to first generation students today at uwsn.org/give.
