2.1.18-2.24.18 9th Annual Teen Creative Writing Contest

Henderson Libraries is holding their 9th annual Teen Creative Writing Contest December 1 through February 24 for those in grades 6 – 12. There are three categories: poetry, short story/fiction, essay/memoir. There will be prizes, with an awards party in April. For more information, click here.

2.15.18 Sky Celebration at LV Natural History Museum

You can explore the explore the science, technology, fascination, and the celestial wonders of the sky February 15 at the Las Vegas Natural History Museum's Sky Celebration. 2.18.18 Vegas Cares About Rare Kids 5K

Whether you donate virtually, come to cheer the participants, or join in the 1-mile walk or 5K run, you will be helping raise funds for kids with rare disorders. The run starts at 8 am at Sunset Park. For more information, click here.

2.21.18 Nevada's Big Give Small Nonprofit Training

Are you a small non-profit participating in the NV Big Give this year? Does your non-profit have 1-2 staff members or a budget of $100,000 or less? Would you benefit from meeting and collaborating with other non-profit staff members and gaining some NV Big Give best practices? Come to a free training and collaboration session at the United Way of Southern Nevada: 5830 W Flamingo Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89103 on Wednesday February 21st from 4-5:30pm. 2.22.18 The Center's Annual Health Fair

The Center will host their annual health fair on February 22, from 1 to 4. The primary target audience is women but everyone is welcome. There will be mammograms (for the insured), free eye screenings, and a variety of community partners offering resources and information. For more information, click here.

2.28.18 Saddle Up and Help Our Kids

On Wednesday, February 28 2018 at 5:30 PM, Boys Town Nevada will kick off our first fundraiser for 2018 “Saddle-Up & Help Our Kids” event at Stoney’s Rockin Country. The funds raised will go directly to our School Base Initiative program where we are making great strides in (8) Title I elementary schools. Join us for a foot-stomping, fun evening at Stoney’s Rockin’ Country, our Premier Sponsor and Host, to support Boys Town Nevada’s life-changing mission to “Save Children and Heal Families” in our community. There’ll be some great music, beer/whiskey/wine tastings and line-dancing lessons, and you can even test your rockin’ rodeo skills on the mechanical bull! For more information, click here.


3.2.18 10th Annual Women's Leadership Council Luncheon Fashion Show

United Way of Southern Nevada’s Women’s Leadership Council (WLC) will host its Annual Luncheon Fashion Show at Bellagio Las Vegas on Friday, March 2, 2018. The event will recognize WLC’s impact in the community and women community leaders who demonstrate a commitment to improving Southern Nevada. Visit for more information.

3.10.18 Skye Canyon's 3rd Annual 8K Trail Mix and 5K Road Race

Skye Canyon's third annual 8K Trail Mix and 5K Road Race for runners and walkers of all levels will be held March 10. Races start at Skye Canyon Park. Prizes will be presented to top finishers. A portion of the event’s proceeds will benefit Create a Change Now, a local non-profit educating at-risk children about health and nutrition. The race also kicks off Skye Canyon’s Fit Fest, which will have fitness related events, fitness classes, and a health-focused vendor expo. For more information, click here.

3.10.18 Evening of Hope

Evening of Hope will have a gallery of art by children and an auction featuring Southern Nevada's finest culinary artists and entertainment to raise awareness of and funding for children battling cancer. You can celebrate childhood cancer heroes with passed bites and libations at this fundraiser for Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada, celebrating 40 years of service. 3.10.18 40th Anniversary Ruby Gala benefiting Nevada School of the Arts

The Nevada School of the Arts will hold their 40th anniversary gala at Red Rock Resort on March 10, starting at 5:00. There will be music from NSA Encore Award Recipients Frankie Moreno, Clint Holmes, Philip Fortenberry and others.  Honorees will be Patrick Duffy (donor and instigator) and Christy Molasky (performer and sponsor of arts education). 3.3.18-3.17.18 Henderson Libraries International Festival

The International Festival’s March events (the 3rd thru the 17th) promise to provide exciting opportunities for you to learn about other cultures. Learn a few phrases in a language new to you, explore Italian and Slovakian films, participate in an interactive workshop about Ukrainian eggs, and attend a day centered around the Japanese culture. Back by popular demand and with limited availability…"Once Upon a Time: The Story of Your Nonprofit and Increased Support". 4.7.18 9th Annual Ladybug Ball benefiting Nevada Blind Children's Foundation

Nevada Blind Children’s Foundation will host its annual Ladybug Ball at the Bellagio on April 7, starting at 6 p.m.  There will be a hosted cocktail reception, a multi-course gourmet meal with wine pairings, live and silent auctions, entertainment, dancing, and a rockin’ VIP after party. 4.27.18 Splish, Splash, It's a Baby Bash Community Shower!

In celebration of National Infant Immunization Week, the Southern Nevada Health District and Immunize Nevada are hosting the annual Splish, Splash, it's a Baby Bash Community Baby Shower from 11 am - 4 pm at the Southern Nevada Health District at 280 S Decatur Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89107. At this event there will be infant immunization offered on site, various community organizations will be present to distribute health resources, and there will be family-friendly activities.

4.28.18 RMHC Runnin' for the House 5K & Family Fun Walk

The RMHC Runnin' for the House 5K & Family Fun Walk will be held at the Las Vegas Ronald McDonald House on April 28, starting at 8 a.m. There will be a certified 5k course, a pancake breakfast, a booth expo, children’s activities, and a great raffle. Also, you can tour the House while at the event and learn how your participation directly helps RMHC. For more information, click here.
