Las Vegas Natural History Museum Kids Programs

The Las Vegas Natural History Museum has family Weekend Science programs on Saturdays from 11 to 3 and on Sundays from 12:30 to 2:30. Kids can do hands-on activities and experiments. They also have the Science Explorers Club for ages 5 to 11.

Nevada Southern Railroad Museum Train Rides

The Nevada Southern Railway Museum in Boulder City offers train rides in old Pullman coaches every Saturday and Sunday (with modern air conditioning during the summer). Trips go to the Railroad Pass Casino and back, taking about 35 minutes.

Since 1923, the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards recognized talented young artists and writers. See and read the best of the best creative expression in the Southern Nevada region January 26 - March 29, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily before the winning art heads to the national competition. 3.14.20    Ride Into Pi(e) Day! Las Vegas AMBUCS 4th Annual Spring Bike Bonanza

Ride Into Pi(e) Day! Las Vegas AMBUCS will be celebrating Pi Day by giving away 18 customized bikes to local Las Vegas Super Kids! Each bike is adapted to each individuals' specific abilities. To celebrate this event, there will be a small riding area, a pie-in-the-face fundraiser, a face painter, a balloon artist, inclusive games, food, a raffle, and much more! 4.5.20   Sun City Summerlin 28th Annual Art Show 

The Sun City Summerlin Art Club proudly presents the 28th Annual Fine art Show and juried competition Saturday, April 4 and Sunday, April 5, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. At the Desert Vista Community Center at 10360 Sun City Boulevard. The show, which is open to the public, features original art by many of our 130 very talented member artists. The competition includes drawings and works in acrylics, oil, watercolor, colored pencil, mixed media. Official judging will be conducted by Cornell University educated and renowned artist, instructor and certified art appraiser, Gabbie Hirsh.

4.18.20  Runnin' for the House 5k 

#RockTheSocks and run to support RMHC families whose children are receiving critical medical care.The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Las Vegas has hosted the run at our house each spring since 2004. The event features a certified 5k course, a McDonald's pancake breakfast, a kid's zone and expo area and a great prize drawing. For more information, click here 

4.25.20 Downtown Summerlin Wellness Festival 

Wellness Festival returns to Downtown Summerlin® on Saturday, April 25th with the hugely successful Tour de Summerlin and Summerlin Half Marathon both kicking off the day-long event that also includes Downtown Summerlin’s popular Farmers Market. This family-friendly celebration focuses on health, wellness and fitness and is presented by Summerlin Hospital Medical Center. Southern Nevada’s longest running cycling event, Tour de Summerlin is now in its 20th year. The 20-mile course kicks off at 8:30 AM; the 40-mile course at 8:15 AM and the 80-mile course at 7:00 AM. The event benefits Breakaway Cycling, a nonprofit to promote cycling and bike safety to children throughout Southern Nevada. For more information, click here
