OCTOBER

10.27.17 3rd Annual CenturyLink Trunk or Treat benefiting United Way of Southern Nevada

CenturyLink presents the 3rd Annual CenturyLink Trunk or Treat benefiting United Way of Southern Nevada on October 27 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the CenturyLink parking (3436 Aldebaran Ave. at Spring Mountain Road and the I-15). Trunk or Treat will feature activities for the whole family including carnival games, bounce houses, face painting, a hay maze and a few other surprises. Vehicles from community organizations will be onsite and families will enjoy “trunk-or-treating” through decorated car trunks filled with treats from dozens of community partners. Snacks will be available for purchase and there will be booths showcasing local businesses. All of the proceeds from this event will benefit United Way of Southern Nevada.  

10.27.17 Last Friday, Just Add Water Street

The October edition of Last Friday, Just Add Water Street will feature a 1980s themed Skate Costume Party, just in time for Halloween! Head down to Water Street in your best 80s gear, skate around the premise to hoppin' 80s tunes, enjoy bites from local vendors and enjoy live art. To learn more, click here.

10.28.17 Halloween Carnival at Paseo Verde Library

The annual Halloween Carnival at the Paseo Verde Library will b on October 28, with games and activities for all ages. Feel free to go in costume!   5:30 to 7:30.

10.28.17 Walks at Wetlands Park

Clark County Wetlands Park has a few more morning walks coming up. On October 28 explore some of the park's habitats  providing resting sites for migratory birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians. For more information, click here.

10.28.17 Halloween Extravaganza at Gibson Library

The 15th annual Halloween Extravaganza at the Gibson Library will be held on October 28, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.  Go in costume to trick or treat, play games and win prizes! It will be a ghoulish good time! Free. For all ages.

10.28-31.17 Halloweenie Haunted House

Angel’s Power Ltd. is hosting a haunted house on 10/28 thru 10/31 from 7 -10 pm at 600 Palmhurst Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89145. On the 31st the haunted house will be open from 6 PM til 10 PM so all the little tricker treaters can come. Call ahead at 702-233-8221 for handicapped parking and accessibility. All proceeds go to the relocation of the Danielle House, an emergency, temporary shelter for child victims of family sexual abuse, their family & pets.

10.30.17 Boo Bash at UNLV

Boo Bash is a free, safe and fun Halloween Event for the entire family. Held at the UNLV Student Union Ballroom, parents and kids who attend can enjoy a safe Halloween experience. 10.30.17 Community Trunk or Treat at Schofield Middle School

Schofield Middle School and Walk Church are hosting their first Trunk or Treat festival October 30, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.  There will be dozens of exhibitors and community partners, games for kids of all ages, food for everyone, and lots and lots of candy.

NOVEMBER

11.3.17 United Way of Southern Nevada Women's Leadership Council Women's Fall Suit Drive

Hosted by the United Way of Southern Nevada’s Women’s Leadership Council, the annual one-day suit drive on Friday, November 3, 2017 from 7 a.m. – 2 p.m. collects suits and other business attire for women in need. The drive helps women prepare for career opportunities and gain confidence to succeed during job interviews and in the workplace. Last year’s drive collected an incredible 11,359 professional items including suits, dresses, shoes, handbags and jewelry. Donations will benefit United Way partner agencies with back to work programs for women. Drive-through donations can be made at the parking lot of NV Energy, 6226 W. 11.3-5.17 Day of the Dead at Springs Preserve

This family-friendly event blends rich customs with exciting activities such as live theater and dance performances, altars, mariachis, face painting, sugar-skull decorating, and an art exhibition. 4 pm, $8 adults; $5 children. For more information, click here.

11.4.17 Second Annual Pray for Snow Party

Lee Canyon and Skye Canyon community will host the second annual Pray for Snow Party at Skye Center November 4, from 3 to 7 p.m. The après ski-themed party celebrates Lee Canyon’s upcoming 2017/18-winter season and is a gathering of local snow sports enthusiasts. The free all-ages event will include food, beverages, acoustic music from Rein Garcia, a vendor village, and the chance to win prizes like North Face jackets and lift tickets. 11.13-14.17 2017 NV Bicycle and Pedestrian Summit

The 2017 NV Bicycle and Pedestrian Summit will be held November 13 and 14 in the Suncoast. Transportation professionals and cycling and walking enthusiasts will share ideas and develop plans to increase bicycle and pedestrian safety on our roads.  There's no charge to attend. 11.16.17 Mayors Prayer Breakfast

The 2017 Mayors Prayer Breakfast will be held November 16, starting at 7:30 am, at Texas Station. It includes mayor reading ecumenical prayers, an interfaith candle lighting ceremony and a keynote speech. Following the breakfast, more than 400 students and representatives from 40 high schools across the city will have the opportunity to ask the mayors questions. 11.18.17 Color Me Kind 5K

11.27.17 Swing for the Kids Golf Tournament

Swing for the Kids Golf Tournament is an annual event hosted by Foundation for Positively Kids.  Golfers will play an 18-hole, shot-gun start tournament with a “poker run” at TPC Summerlin starting at 8 am.  Tournament winner will be decided by the best POKER hand.  Golfers will receive a card at the practice tee and holes 5, 8, 14, and 17 with the opportunity to purchase extra cards for $20.  Golfers will play their own ball.  A lunch will be provided at the end of play with a silent auction.
