United Way of Southern Nevada’s Women’s Leadership Council members will join together to make a difference and help empower other women during the “Sip & Sort” on October 30 in preparation for the 11th annual WLC Suit Drive on Friday, November 2, 2018.
The 2018 Mayors Prayer Breakfast, a community-building event, encourages unity, diversity and the development of leadership skills for Las Vegas youth, and will take place at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Texas Station Gambling Hall & Hotel. The event includes mayors reading ecumenical prayers, an interfaith candle lighting ceremony, a keynote speech by Kerry Bubolz, President and Chief Operations Officer of the Vegas Golden Knights, and a special performance by the Green Valley Madrigal Singers.
During a powerful community-wide third annual Day of Caring on Friday, October 5, 2018, more than 1,000 volunteers gave back at 78 local nonprofits and schools.

Today, on the one-year anniversary of 1 October, we take a moment to pause and reflect. We mourn as a community for the 58 victims and we honor the countless other individuals touched by the events of that night.
We are looking for volunteers to be a part of our Day of Caring on Oct. 5. They will be working on a variety of projects, everything from painting, reading at schools, building tortoise habitats, and helping nonprofits and schools throughout the community who need help.
On Oct. 5, Southern Nevadans wielding paintbrushes, gardening implements, hand tools, art supplies, books and massive goodwill will fan out across the valley to improve, in ways tangible and intangible, the lives of others.
