Me & My Recipe | Angel Williams

“I hate it when people say it can’t be done.” Angel Williams, UWSN’s Vice President of Donor Engagement, brings her can-do attitude to lead the organization’s fundraising efforts and develop relationships with the individuals and companies that give back to the community through United Way.

Born and raised in San Diego, Angel is a die-hard Chargers fan who graduated from San Diego State University with a BA in Speech Communication. Since she is an only child, she is very close to her fantastic parents. Her father inspires her motivation to take on challenges. Angel says he was “the most positive, can-do person I’ve ever known.”

Angel’s family also includes her high school sweetheart and husband of 15 years, Chris, and two daughters, Isabelle, 12, and Eva, 8. Isabelle is following in her mother’s footsteps and getting involved in school activities. “I graduated from Poway High school and competed on the swim team, so I’m excited that Isabelle is now participating in her middle school swim team,” said Angel.

Angel’s dream is to be the next Anthony Bourdain, travelling and eating her way through the countries she visits. Some of her favorite places she’s been on her travels are Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, and Australia. Angel loves to cook, “mostly because I love to eat,” she says. Her family especially loves her Penne with Prosciutto. “My husband and oldest daughter like the flambe part!” Angel has a group of favorite Las Vegas restaurants, including Sage, Mon Ami Gabi, Carnevino and Due Forni, along with anything Thai.

As the leader of the Donor Engagement team, Angel interacts with some of the organization’s most important resources: partner companies, donors, and volunteers. “The exciting part for me is uniting them with the community work of United Way and our partner agencies to tackle Southern Nevada’s most challenging community issues,” Angel says. Her team engages companies and individuals through workplace giving and leadership giving groups, creating unique opportunities for companies to give back to the community in fun and easy ways and growing the Young Philanthropists Society, Women's Leadership Council and Tocqueville Society.
