VOLUNTEER

One of the best ways to give back during the holiday season is to give the gift of time! By giving your time as a volunteer, you will join our UWSN volunteer team and make a difference at our nonprofit partners across the valley! You can volunteer as an individual or invite your friends, family, and co-workers to become a volunteer team. We have various volunteer opportunities available on Volunteer Connect or customized volunteer projects for corporate teams!

VOLUNTEER PROJECTS:

Service-To-Go Opportunities:

All customized Service To Go events include United Way staff-led logistics and kit packing setup. Your time and effort get put to work in our community, as all kit recipients are United Way partner schools and agencies. View our project options here for more details, and click here to contact our UWSN Volunteer Engagement and Events Manager Savanna Sibley to set-up your volunteer experience!

DIY Service Project: T-Shirt Tote Bags:

Put your gently used or new t-shirts to use and turn them into reusable grocery bags! These no-sew t-shirt bags are perfect for donating to local food pantries to use when they give out food in addition to being environmentally friendly. It's a fun, simple, and low-budget project to clean out your closet, protect the environment, and most importantly help others! Click here for more details.

CCSD Stay in School Mentoring Project:

The Stay in School Mentoring Project matches volunteers from the community across a broad spectrum of professions, with students that need guidance and support to help them be successful in school. Due to the global pandemic, CCSD is offering a virtual program for this school year. Their goal is to offer quality programming while keeping their students and mentors safe. Learn how you can become a virtual mentor or record mentor messages for CCSD students here.

Become a virtual United Way Advocate!

The COVID-19 pandemic and resulting economic recession have left state budgets in free fall, a record number of Americans unemployed, and families struggling to put food on the table. With negotiations on a 5th coronavirus relief package underway in Congress, United Way Worldwide is calling for both increased federal Medicaid funding and SNAP benefits to support states and families nationwide.

We ask you to join with us to help educate Members of Congress on these critical policy priorities and what they would mean for the families in your community. Learn how you can help us advocate for increased Medicaid and SNAP benefits via social media here
