United Way of Southern Nevada’s Operation Holiday Cheer Drive has begun!

LAS VEGAS- (December 6, 2019)- United Way of Southern Nevada is spreading joy to local youth and families in need this holiday season by hosting Operation Holiday Cheer! From December 2-20, UWSN is accepting donations of new warm clothes, gloves, blankets, accessories, and toys.

During the holidays, families and youth in our community often arrive at homeless shelters with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Donations of warm and fuzzy clothing can help them stay warm and healthy during the cold Las Vegas winter. Additionally, toy donations will bring smiles to the faces of children in our community.

Our goal is to collect 1,000 warm and fuzzy items and toys throughout December. Donations of warm clothes and accessories will be distributed to the Las Vegas Rescue Mission, Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada, Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, and Project 150. We are partnering with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department to distribute toy donations to Clark County Title 1 schools.

UWSN encourages organizations across the valley to host their own Holiday Operation Cheer!  Coordinate a "mini-drive" at your office where employees and customers can bring supplies to a central location to be combined with the total donations of the community. You can set up a collection box or bin and even consider setting a goal for your workplace!

By encouraging the giving spirit of the Las Vegas community, we can provide homeless youth and families with a warm and joy-filled holiday. Together, we can spread holiday cheer to those most in need by giving the gift of clothes and toys.
