Helping Parents Learn the Skills They Need to Get Back to Work

After graduating high school with no hope of attending college, Selena felt she had limited options for her future. At only 24 years old, Selena gave birth to her first child and was determined to build a better future for her and her son. Through the support of UWSN, Foundation for An Independent Tomorrow (FIT) helped Selena enroll in a job training program. Through hard work, dedication and the help of a FIT counselor, she achieved her goal of becoming a certified medical assistant. Selena is proud of all that she achieved through the FIT program and has hope for a successful career in the medical field. She is looking forward to moving up in her career and providing compassionate care to families in Southern Nevada for years to come.
